Seagrass Oceanfront Inn

The staff are super friendly, and every room has amazing ocean views with stairs leading down to the beach. Since the Shilo Inn bankruptcy, the hotel has been changing owners and is now called Seagrass Oceanfront Inn. It’s expected to be fully remodeled soon and brought back to life.

The whole room feels very dated. The views are amazing and the staff are great, but the mattress is only okay and the rooms are clean-ish. There’s no free breakfast or pool, and no extra towels. They barely seem to have enough for the rooms, and the ones provided are stained enough to look dirty. There’s a microwave and fridge, but very few outlets, so the room doesn’t seem up to electrical code. No USB lights or outlets either, which isn’t a surprise. No in-room service, which I don’t like anyway.

The ocean view is amazing, but it’s the only real positive for me. The price is far too high for what you get, especially since our room had only a fridge and microwave. Some rooms have kitchens, but that didn’t make our cost feel justified. The place itself seems to be coming apart. Gutters are falling apart, and there’s siding stored beneath the building. Inside, the floor creaked underfoot and the outdated room felt like it was falling apart. There are too many problems to overlook, and I honestly wonder if this hotel will still be here in a couple of years.

The location is good, and the room was clean with comfortable beds. The furniture is old and the rooms feel dated. I’d put it at a low two or three star motel. With no breakfast, the cost should be...
