Snow Cap Inn

We came for the Tough Mountain Challenge and stayed one night. The front desk staff were friendly and really helpful before and during our visit. The rooms were roomy and comfortable, and being able to bring our pet was a huge plus. It was easy to get to and very well kept inside and out. There's a hot tub, and the rustic decor is beautiful. Highly recommend.

The rooms are basic but comfortable, and the rates are good value. Snow Cap Inn is two minutes from the Sunday River slopes, with a shuttle every 30 minutes, and the staff are super friendly and helpful. I can always count on a wonderful stay here. There are two fireplaces, complimentary coffee and tea, excellent blueberry muffins in the morning, and fresh-baked cookies in the afternoon. The hot chocolate bar at night is fabulous and has plenty to choose from. After skiing, the recently remodeled jacuzzi and fire pits just a few feet from the front door are perfect for warming up sore muscles. Great place to stay near Sunday River!

Awful, and not even that cheap. The walls are paper thin. Between the guy next door banging his girlfriend and the ratty dog barking across the hall, it was impossible to get a decent night's rest.

The room was clean and comfortable, the location was fantastic, the shuttle bus was great, and the staff were friendly. I would have liked to give five stars across the board, but I couldn't for two reasons. We were arriving a night early, so I tried calling to ask if a room was available. The number listed online, which I'd used to make the reservation, wasn't answered in the evening. I was surprised since this isn't a small resort. Also, they charge for a full day, but check-in isn't until after 5 p.m. and checkout is at 10:30.
