Falls View Inn

My child found a used pad under the bathroom counter, the TV didn't work, and staff never gave us the WiFi code they said we'd get so the kids could at least watch the iPad. My husband also pointed out other things that didn't work or seemed unsafe under fire code, but nothing was fixed after we reported the issues. It was disgusting, and I felt awful having our young children stay there. I wouldn't return even if the room were free. We needed one more night on a long weekend because our other hotel was full. We found this motel on Expedia, which we'd never used, and booked at one price. At check-in, the owner's son said our room wasn't available, even though the room we were given looked like the photo and the Expedia listing showed more beds than the three in our room. He said he'd cancel the booking right there unless we paid an extra $40. I hadn't realized an Expedia reservation wasn't firm and could be cancelled by the motel at check-in. After this, I won't use Expedia again; with young kids, I need secure accommodation and peace of mind. They told us they'd just reopened after renovations and taken over from the previous owners, but nothing looked renovated. They hadn't even taken the Scottish Inn paperwork off the back of the door. We were also told the room problems would be sorted out, but nothing was done.

The new management is good, and the room was clean. Excellent service.

The property was very run down, and the website's amenities weren't accurate: there was no WiFi or cable. We saw what looked like drug deals in the parking lot. When we asked about a picture on the counter, the staff member said the rooms didn't all look like that and only one room was nice, then started yelling at us. We didn't check in or stay, but they still charged our card for the room. The staff had a very bad attitude toward customers.

The staff were friendly and did their best to accommodate us, and the service was great. The rooms are dated and weren't as clean as I expected. Don't expect much beyond friendly service.
