This hotel has roaches. I woke up at 4am to find them running around, packed up, and left. I told the clerk, who didn't seem to care. People also live here, which isn't a problem by itself, but the bulletproof glass in front of the clerk and the general feeling of unsafety were unsettling. The hotel is next to a fish place, which was the only perk.

I’m 18 and travel alone pretty often. Home Place Inn’s website says there’s no minimum age to check in, but when I drove an hour and a half to get there, staff told me I had to be 21. I showed them what their own site said and they still wouldn’t help. The staff were extremely rude, and there wasn’t a manager there to speak with. I ended up driving another 30 minutes and paying much more for somewhere else. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

For $78 a night, this was a really bad experience. There were cockroaches, and the room was very dirty. The carpet looked old and disgustingly filthy, and the lampshade had dirty spots that looked like blood. Some light bulbs were missing, and the smoke detectors didn’t work. I even had to unplug the microwave just to open the door.

The staff were nice, and the room was okay. You get about what you pay for here. It’s neither the best nor the worst.

There’s a large fridge, a microwave, and a smart TV, though the TV isn’t big. The Wi-Fi was decent, and the location worked well for getting around Nicholasville, with plenty of food nearby and a Walmart across the road. But for $95 on a Saturday, I didn’t think the price was worth it. They don’t really post weekday rates online, so I can’t say how those compare. I’d only stay again if I had no other choice. The room had barely any outlets. I had to unplug the clock to charge something by the bed. I could hear the people next door easily through the thin walls, and the beds and pillows were both uncomfortably firm. The hallway smelled of smoke, and even though my room was marked non-smoking, it smelled like it had recently been used for smoking.
