Casa Del Mar

We’ve just left after spending our honeymoon here on a rainy night, and it was peaceful. The views were spectacular, and the service was first class. They took care of everything I needed and then some. This place deserves more than its two stars, and I’ll be back multiple times. Thank you so much.

At 1 a.m. I had to walk all the way to the office to ask for blankets because the bed had none and the room phone didn’t work. They offered to fix the phone the next day, but never did. The room itself was filthy: a dusty floor with dirt crumbs, sticky marks on the nightstand, and a dirty blanket crammed into a drawer. There were cigarette marks on the toilet seat, and what looked like poop spray under the seat and in the bowl.

The beach access is super nice, and the front desk lady was kind, but this place feels scary. I’m here in the middle of the night wishing I could leave. I asked for a non-smoking room and got one that smelled smoky. The floors hadn’t been vacuumed, mopped, or swept well, and the walls are so thin you can hear everything. The area feels sketchy too.

My wife and I booked two rooms through Hotel.com at casa del mar motel, but they gave us the wrong rooms, and the ones we got were filthy. There were dead flies and M&M's on the floor, a dirty bathroom, and cigarette burns on the toilet bowl. After we complained to the owner, my wife had to clean the bathroom herself, then argue with the owner over the room assignment. I woke up with pink eye, and my throat was sore from the dust and dirt. We complained to Hotel.com, but the owner wouldn’t give us a refund, so they only refunded $25 for the two rooms.
