Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Norfolk Airport

I’ve stayed here twice and would come back. The rooms are clean, convenient for working, and the staff are fantastic. Check-in and checkout were both very quick and easy. The restaurant is good, and the portions are huge compared with anywhere in Canada. The gym is simple, though I don’t use it. It’s good by North American standards and better than competitors in the same price range. One thing that would help compete even more is a proper coffee machine at the breakfast buffet. We Europeans just want a small espresso in the morning, not a huge filter coffee. Thank you.

We booked park and cruise rooms at Doubetree Norfolk well ahead of our cruise, but a couple of days before departure the hotel cancelled them and rebooked us at the Hampton Inn. We’ve had a few bad experiences at the Hampton Inn, so we weren’t happy with that change. Coming home, our cruise got back to port late and we waited over two hours for the shuttle. It was cold, and my brother’s son was with us. After several calls, one shuttle told us to move to a different pickup point, which turned out to be wrong too. In the end both families paid $80 for taxi cabs to get back to our vehicles. I definitely don’t recommend this hotel’s park and cruise package.

I was a bit nervous after reading some of the reviews, but I’d stay here again. My room was modern, updated, and clean, and I slept well in the bed. The front desk staff were kind and helpful. They checked me in efficiently and answered my questions about the airport shuttle. The driver was pleasant, personable, and went out of her way to accommodate everyone. She drove safely, and we left on time and reached the airport early. Thanks for making the stay enjoyable.

Ms. Shantell at the front desk welcomed us with kindness and professionalism, and checked that we were comfortable and had what we needed. Check-in was quick and easy, with warm, delicious cookies and a bottle of water. The room was nice and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The water could have had more pressure, but it was hot enough for a shower. Breakfast cost a little much, though the food was good and there was plenty of variety. I enjoyed staying here while my husband worked nearby and would come back if I’m in the area.
