Express Inn

We checked in last night, and while my husband didn't want me to raise it with the front desk, I thought this was really odd. We came back from getting dinner around four and found two men in our room with the door wide open, installing a mirror. We had to wait outside a few minutes. They should've checked with the front desk to see if anyone was staying there first. There were empty water bottles and a Hardee's cup in the room, and the bed wasn't fully made, so it wasn't hard to tell it was occupied. Afterward, the bathroom smelled strongly of pee as soon as you entered. I had cleaned the toilet before dinner, as I always do in hotels, so I wondered if the men had peed in there while we were gone.

This place seems run down, and the rates feel misleading. The posted prices seem to get people to stop, but the guy running it changes the price depending on who's asking and then says there are no rooms at the listed rate, even when the parking lot is completely empty. I'd go to one of the nearby hotels instead, where it's clean and professional and the price is clearly posted.

We had to wait past check in time because the room wasn't clean, and the microwave didn't work when we arrived. There was mold above the shower, dirty floors, and hair all over the sink. We couldn't get extra towels until the next day. There were four of us, but the manager insisted on coming into our room while we were out. It smelled like marijuana, even though they insisted it was a nonsmoking room, and there was an ashtray in it. I wouldn't come back.

The location was great, and the staff were very friendly. The bed was comfortable, too. The facility needs a facelift, though. The door locks were broken, the kick plate on the back door was taped on, and the ceiling tiles were stained.
