Rachel put so much care into planning our micro-wedding at the Manor House Inn in Norfolk, CT. She kept in touch throughout and made sure the details felt personal and right for us. The package covered everything we could have hoped for: an intimate ceremony, lovely decorations, a custom signature cocktail at cocktail hour, an incredible five-course plated dinner, an overnight stay for us, and a delicious breakfast the next morning. The grounds were pristine, the meal was outstanding, and even the turndown service felt luxurious. We were absolutely thrilled and couldn’t have imagined a better way to celebrate.

We came to the Manor House Inn for a quick anniversary break, just 2.5 hours from NYC, and found it warm and inviting. Our Country French room had a nice view of the property and a big soaking tub. The linens and toiletries were luxurious, and the place felt charming, with care put into the details. At night we played board games by the fireplace with hot tea. During the day we drove a short way to hike Haystack Mountain. The Inn is also within walking distance of the town center and several trails and hiking spots. A peaceful getaway where you can relax, restore, and explore the area. We’ll be back.

After an amazing breakfast from Chef Fell, we took an easy walk into town. The beautiful library, Yale Summer School of Music, and Ice Box cafe, where we stopped for a well-deserved latte, were highlights. Blair had plenty of suggestions for things to do in Norfolk and the surrounding area. Our hosts, Blair and Fell, were gracious and kind, and the house itself is stunning. We had another wonderful breakfast before leaving, but we’ll definitely return to explore more of Litchfield County and stay at the restful Manor House Inn.

There’s so much to explore within a short drive: three state parks, great food, pubs and breweries, a music hall, a cafe, waterfalls, nature trails, and plenty more. Saville dam and falls village are just a couple of examples. This is the most beautiful part of CT, and the Manor House Inn is a brilliant place to stay while visiting the northwest corner of the state. Book as soon as they reopen in spring.

Blair’s hospitality was unparalleled. We came to the Manor House Inn to get away from the noise and business of everyday life, and that’s exactly what we wanted. If you’re into antiques, vintage things, old books, and the quiet elegance of a more than 100-year-old estate, this is the place.
