The hosts were gracious throughout our visit, even offering to let us leave the car and luggage at the Inn while we finished our final-day plans. They had called ahead to warn us about high tide and what to avoid while driving. Each room has its own name and decorative theme, and ours was so lovely that I didn’t feel like going out for dinner. The furniture and bed were comfortable, and we later had coffee on the terrace. Breakfast was pumpkin spice waffles with candied ginger. The whole stay was fantastic.

The house is gorgeous, the food was amazing, and there were snacks and drinks for guests. Still, our wedding-night stay ended on a stressful note. No one told us, either by phone or when we arrived, that contractors meant we had to check out before 10:30. We planned to leave at 11, as we understood the usual checkout time to be, and at 10:40 someone knocked to ask if we were ready. The woman running the place later said our room had only been made available on the condition we checked out by 10:30. Not knowing that was embarrassing and left a bad feeling about the place we’d chosen for our wedding night. The staff had been polite to my mother-in-law on the phone, but customer service needs improvement, especially for guests celebrating something special.

Our room was cozy and beautifully decorated, and the breakfast was abundant and absolutely yummy, despite a review I’d read saying it wasn’t enough. The ladies were warm and friendly. When we arrived, they showed us how to get in and explained the little quirks of the house. It’s a lovely place to stay, and we’ll return. I’m grateful places like this are around.

The little extras made our Page House Inn stay feel special: complimentary sherry and snacks, plus a wonderful breakfast. We loved walking around the home to admire the woodwork and artwork. Our room was clean and incredibly comfortable, and my fiancé liked the bed even more than our own. I especially loved the deep bathtub in Master Percy’s Suite and spent much of the visit in it. The service was excellent, and we’ll definitely be back soon.

The hosts were friendly and thoughtful, adding personal touches and keeping an eye on what guests needed. We loved the three shih tzus too. Page House Inn feels elegant and classy, but still comfortable and homey. There was port and sherry on the coffee table, snacks and tea available any time, plus a second-floor veranda. Breakfast was delicious and gourmet, with fancy coffee served at a set time. Our room was grand, spacious, and cozy. The location is ideal, close to the Chrysler Art Museum and within walking distance of the Elizabeth River Biking Trail and great restaurants. I loved the whole stay and can’t wait to return.
