Ramada Limited Norfolk

I used to stay at this Motel often about 13 years ago and never had a bad experience, and I really like the staff. This time, though, roaches were everywhere, coming out from under and behind the bed and all over the room. I put my luggage back in my truck. I was exhausted and didn’t want to look for another room so late, and figured asking for a refund would be pointless, so I tried to put up with it. I slept fully dressed, shoes, hoodie and all, and woke to baby roaches crawling on me. It was disgusting, and I didn’t even try to shower in that filth. They should tear it down and build new.

They go out of their way to help guests. A family facing homelessness needed to extend their stay, and the staff helped them arrange another night. The lobby was comfortable for making calls and raising funds while they met with agencies about longer-term support.

I had a nice two-week stay and would come back when I'm in the area. The room was clean and well designed, with a comfortable king bed, microwave and mini fridge. For the price, it felt like a $100 room at a Hampton. Breakfast was a decent continental one, and the staff were amazing. I didn't see any bugs or rodents. There are lots of food options nearby, including a delicious Mongolian BBQ up the street. I'm from New York, so having a Dunkin Donuts a block away was a yay for me. I also found Tim's across the street and loved the gourmet coffee and bakery treats. The people there were really nice too. A bank, Wawa and Walmart at Janef are just around the corner, and I wheeled over there several times. My one real problem was getting around in my wheelchair. There's no curb or sidewalk along the side of the highway, so crossing the street to get to HRT is quite dangerous.

Please stay away from this location. My kids were bitten by bed bugs, and I ended up with a $400 hospital bill for treatment. The room was awkwardly far from parking, and the bathroom had leftover dirt, bugs in the tub and hair on the beds. The microwave still had food residue, and the ice tray was filthy. There were lots of bed bugs and nets in the room. When I raised the problems with staff, they didn't help beyond offering a $20 discount. My family is now out $380 after a horrible night and those bites. With 149 rooms, that's no excuse. I've worked at properties with three times as many and never seen them this nasty. It seems like poor staffing, and the cleaning crew needs to step up. You're lazy and nasty, admit it and do better. Ramada inn on military hwy norfolk va you ought to be ashamed of yourselves. I wouldn't recommend this roachtel to anyone. Run to the nearest Marriott, I'm sure they'll keep you happy and clean from pests.
