Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Norman near University

Pool was out of order, with a sign at the front desk to let guests know during check-in. Otherwise, I had no complaints and would happily stay again. It's a clean, cozy little hotel at a good price. The hot breakfast included eggs, sausage links, waffles, three cereal choices, orange and apple juice, coffee, water, white and whole grain bread for toast, and mini muffins.

The front desk didn't seem to care when we raised the problem, and they just moved us to another room. When we opened the bathroom door, several bugs were crawling around, including one big cockroach, some smaller bugs we couldn't identify, and multiple dead ones. I have videos and pictures of them crawling in the bathroom, though I couldn't figure out how to post them. The kids were sad the pool was closed, and other kids ran up and down the hall making a lot of noise. The walls seemed thin: we could hear crickets or some other bug making noise all night. Wouldn't recommend it.

The room was average, about what I expected for the price, and breakfast was much the same. There were hardly any guests in the hotel in late January, which seemed odd. The TV wouldn't work, and neither would the room phone when I tried to call about it. At the front desk, they told me to unplug and reconnect the TV, then follow the instructions on the remote if that failed. Most of the writing on the remote had worn off, so that wasn't useful. I eventually got the TV going, but after turning it off for the night I had to repeat the reset the next day. They didn't seem to care.

We had to try 3 rooms before finding one that was clean. Two smelled like cigarettes, even after someone lectured us about the no-smoking policy. The heated pool was cold, and its room was really humid. At first we were told the pool was closed for repairs, then they opened it a bit later. My grandbaby got sick on checkout morning. I asked for 30 minutes extra to clean her and the mess, but they said no and told me to leave.
