Hilton Garden Inn Norman

The bathrooms felt a little dated, with rust marks in the tub and very weak shower pressure. Otherwise, the rooms were roomy and had what we needed. The hotel was clean and quiet, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Its spot by I-35 made it easy to get to Norman and OU, and the gym’s two sections were both well equipped.

Kathy at the front desk was so welcoming and knew the area well, with good recommendations whenever I needed them. My room was spotless, and the pool and hot tub looked beautiful. The location worked perfectly for me, close to everything I needed. I’d happily recommend this place.

I paid over $100 a night and there wasn’t even a continental breakfast, not so much as a free bagel or cereal. The whole place smelled bad. My first-floor room had a musty, moldy odor, the bathroom smelled like someone had just defecated in it and shut the door, and the fitness room smelled of feces too. It felt pretty gross. Definitely not the best Hilton I’ve stayed at.

The hotel is tucked behind the restaurants, which gave me a sense of safety, and it’s really close to some great places to eat. But what made the stay for me was Kathy. She was attentive, personable, and clearly cared about my comfort. She went out of her way to get me the best deal on the room. That kind of hospitality makes a difference, and Hilton has become my preferred hotel chain because of her.
