Red Lion Inn & Suites Auburn

There was a bed bug bite on my thigh when I woke up. We might as well have slept in the car, that would've been a better experience. When I checked out, nobody was at the desk, even after I rang the bell. I had to call the hotel from my cell before the front desk person came running down the stairs. I told him about everything and said I remembered when Red Lion used to be a nice hotel. I also mentioned the broken ice machine on the first floor. He just said, "oh ya, that ice machine doesn't work!" So he already knew and hadn't fixed it. Slum lord! He didn't offer even a partial refund, which is terrible customer service. After reading this, you could still make it right by refunding me. Room 139, 01/16/2026 to 01/17/2026. DO THE RIGHT THING AND I WILL DELETE THIS JUSTIFIED NEGATIVE RESPONSE! The breakfast had some decent choices, but the "hot" food was only lukewarm because the chafing dishes had no heating element. Our room had mildew in the shower, a bathroom door that looked like someone had punched through it, and a room door that seemed shut but popped open when you pulled the handle. We had to slam it to get it to latch. The microwave had no plate, and the single-serve coffee maker was missing the tray for the coffee pouch, so I called the desk for one. When I mentioned the mildew, he said, "I'm not surprised since the maintenance person is in Alaska right now!!" There were three sheriff cars out front when we arrived, apparently for some kind of domestic dispute. Not a great look when you're checking into a hotel.
