Salt Lake City Marriott City Center

The rooms were roomy and clean, and we slept comfortably. Check-in was quick and friendly, and checking out went just as smoothly. We’ve stayed at a lot of motels downtown, and this has been the best by far. We were woken around 8 AM March 01, 2026 by what sounded like furniture moving upstairs. It went on for about an hour. We were in room 401. Aside from that, it was a great stay, and I’ll be choosing this place first next time.

We really liked the pool and hot tub, especially since the water was properly hot. The staff were friendly, the room and bed were comfortable, and everything felt newer and a bit nicer than the other Marriott options nearby. We paid a little more for this weekend in SLC because of the location and the newer feel, and we weren’t disappointed. The hotel is by the ice skating rink at Galivan Plaza and the mall, which made it easy to explore and find food. From Scratch is just a short walk away. Parking in the garage on Friday night was plentiful, and the fee seemed reasonable for a downtown hotel. One thing for management: a wine glass was left in the hall outside our room for our entire stay. The dried wine residue made it look like it had been there a while. It wasn’t a big deal to us, but another commenter had mentioned room service dishes in the hallway, so I thought it was worth mentioning. We had a great experience and would recommend staying here.

The concierge lounge was well stocked, and parking was easy to manage with the self-park option. The hotel is in the city center, so it was also convenient to drive around from there. Our room was spacious. Our first night was difficult because we checked in late, but the next day we met Chantelle at the front desk. She went above and beyond for me and my kids, and made our stay feel easy. She was so kind and hospitable. A huge thank you for the service and experience she gave us.

We had a good stay, and the staff were really respectful. The bed was comfortable, and although the room only had one bed, the couch folded out into another one. We did notice a stain on the sheets. The shower was large and had a soft spray, but there was no door and hardly any pressure. The hot tub wasn’t very hot, and the pool was packed. We went over New Year’s, though, so we expected the hotel to be busy.
