The Foothills Motel

I've stayed twice while traveling between Auburn and the Bay Area, and this is the coziest, nicest place I've found in Auburn. The rooms were very clean, and the firm bed was still comfortable. I felt safe and slept great. The staff were friendly, professional, and helpful with restaurants and parks. I can't recall the manager's name, but he was especially helpful in pointing me to Maria’s restaurant just down the road, and the food was delicious. I also loved the retro touches, like the mini Coca-Cola fridges and cups, plus the spa-style shower and lighted mirrors. If I'm back in Auburn, I'll stay here again.

Our dog was welcome, which we really appreciated. The motel was quaint, quiet, and nicely updated. The room was clean and modern, the beds were very comfortable with lots of soft pillows, and the in-room Keurig was a nice extra. It was our first stay, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

This cute retro motel is close enough to walk to good food, a bowling alley, and a really cool metaphysical shop. The rooms are nice, though ours smelled a bit musty. It wasn't too bad and went away after I opened the back door. That's probably to be expected in a place that's been around since the 50s.

We've stayed here twice, and the rooms have been clean, recently renovated, and much more comfortable than other Auburn hotels we've tried. It's also dog friendly, and the property is quiet and well maintained, a relaxing place to unwind after a long day. The value along 80 is hard to beat, so we've often used it as our base for skiing. A real hidden gem.
