It was a quiet spot, and the receptionist was really sweet. The parking was cramped, with everything close together, though places weren’t too far to walk to. The bed was okay, and the room’s decor was cute. You could tell it had just been painted, but there was a cigarette burn in our sheet. The water was my main issue. The hot side only got lukewarm, maybe colder, and the cold side was even colder. I’d come back if someone else were paying, but I’m not sure I’d spend my own money again. Maybe a 50/50 chance.

The room had no working TV for our whole week there, while our apartment was being repaired. Management kept saying a technician was on the way. When someone finally showed up on our last night, he was rude and swore at us. We also didn’t get clean towels or even basic toilet paper. There’s no public trash disposal, and when I used the only bin available, the on-site manager accused me of littering and harassed me. The place was badly neglected. Grime had built up on the baseboards, switches, and microwave, and there was pink slime and staining in the shower and toilet. I had to buy hospital-grade cleaner at a nearby janitorial supply store and sanitize the whole room myself so it would be safe for my husband, who has heart failure. We’d been quoted a lower price by phone, but were charged much more when we arrived. With my husband without transportation at the time, we felt we had no choice but to pay. I gave management several months to address this privately, but got dismissive responses and calls that were hung up on. The man in the baseball cap at the desk is rude and unprofessional. When I’ve called about a modest $64 refund for the missing amenities, he hangs up on me. It’s heartbreaking to be treated this way when we’re below the poverty line and only asking for what we paid for. Avoid this place. The poor hygiene is a health hazard, and the way management acts feels predatory. I’ll be reporting it to the Better Business Bureau and local health department. Owners, replace the current staff if you want the business to survive.

Thanks, Lisa, for helping me move out of homelessness. I felt safe staying here alone as a woman. It’s close to the police station in North Bend and near the library. This family-owned motel is run by a kind young man and his mother. She made sure I could quickly get a clean place to live. They also have other leases for people like students who need basic amenities and a quick housing option on a small budget.

We ended up at the old Super 8 in the middle of the night because every hotel in town was full for whatever holiday it was. The night clerk there was kind enough to let us sleep in the spare room the maids used, then booked us into the first room available in the morning. Bless her lil’ ol’ heart. I’d paid for three nights here and arrived late, but nothing online said there was a cutoff time to pick up the key. There was no employee anywhere on the night shift, no after-hours number, and no one at all to help. I called the only number listed and could hear the front desk phone ringing endlessly, both on my end and from outside the dark, unlit lobby. I never got a refund.

We got stuck here at the last minute after another motel messed up our reservation. The beds were clean, but everything else was dusty, and there was who knows what in the nightstand drawer. The mini fridge was broken and moldy. The front desk lady brought another one in, but my husband had to help her carry it. The door was broken too, and looked like it had been kicked in at some point. Just ew.
