Comfort Inn & Suites Charleston Airport Convention Center

We came for our daughter's graduation, and the shuttle took us to the coliseum. We rode back with a family member. Check-in started with warm chocolate chip cookies and a friendly clerk, and the staff seemed genuinely interested in making us comfortable. Our room was much bigger than a standard one, with two queen beds, an L-shaped sofa, a large desk and chair, a roomy bathroom, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The HVAC was quiet and worked well, and the blackout curtains were appreciated. Despite the airport nearby and an airshow scheduled for Saturday, the noise wasn't as bad as I'd feared. The complimentary breakfast was better than the usual hotel spread, with waffles, eggs, potatoes, sausage, and fruit. The coffee was good, too, with a nice choice of creamers and tea bags.

My room was clean, fantastic, and roomy enough for me as a solo traveler. The airport is conveniently close, and the shuttle can take you anywhere within a five-mile radius. The hotel sits along one of North Charleston's busiest roads, unlike some nearby places that are more tucked away. Getting onto the road by car can mean waiting for a gap in the oncoming traffic. Even so, I had a really comfortable, pleasant stay.

The hotel was quiet, though we could hear planes now and then without them being too loud. It's in a commercial area, so there aren't views, but the location is convenient. The free breakfast was the usual sort of spread, though the food seemed better quality than average. We stayed one night while visiting town. Our room was clean, spacious, and well laid out, with toiletries and a fridge, and the hotel had the usual amenities. The staff were friendly and helpful. Joel at the front desk was especially great and funny, and even checked in with us after arrival to make sure everything was all right. A very nice three-star hotel.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the updated hotel was clean. Breakfast was good, too. It's a convenient spot if you'd rather stay outside downtown, with an easy trip into town. I'd recommend it.
