Wingate by Wyndham Charleston University Boulevard

We came to town for our son's wedding and had a wonderful experience with all the front desk staff. They arranged rooms next to each other for my 82-year-old widowed mother-in-law, which was great since she needs our help and we could keep her close. The breakfast staff were great and very helpful, and the kind rooms were spacious and clean. We'd definitely stay here again when traveling through.

The buffet breakfast was really good, and the staff serving it were friendly. The hotel sits in a lovely wooded area with trees and a frog pond, and I liked seeing people still using the common area late into the night. There weren't any people-noise issues, but there were strange sounds coming from the walls, and the AC was VERY loud. Our King room was large, with a lot of empty space and minimal furniture in decent condition. The artwork had a local theme. I chose this place because it was the lowest price with decent reviews, and hadn't realized it was so far out of town. No issues for the whole trip, but when the room was cleaned, they left the door open and unlocked and forgot the master key inside. Oops.

The area was peaceful near the University, and our kids loved the hotel pool. Staff were incredibly friendly and handled every need without a problem. The room was a tremendous value, and the whole hotel was sparkling clean. Breakfast was excellent, with staff keeping everything super fresh for all three hours it was served. We'll definitely stay here again.

The staff were very nice, and our room was clean, though it needed repairs. I've included photos. Breakfast was only okay and could use more effort. The scrambled eggs were box-poured and horrible, and the sausage links were poor too. Those were the two proteins I wanted, and both were subpar. For the price, I expected better.
