Madison Inn

It's one of the best hotel stays we've had in the US or Europe. The staff were friendly and very helpful with recommendations. The inn is easy to reach from the ferry, right in downtown Oak Bluffs, so we could pop back during the day. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well lit, with plenty of amenities. Drinks, fruit, and snacks were easy to find, and the private courtyard was a relaxing spot to sit and rest.

The Madison Inn was a great base, close to restaurants, shops, and the free shuttle for exploring the island. John suggested we walk to see the gingerbread houses, and we're glad we did. It was a nice way to walk off our delicious dinner at the Red Cat restaurant, just one street over. We only stayed one night, but had a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived. John at the front desk was kind, friendly, and helpful. We parked for free a short walk away by the water. This wasn't a beach trip for us, though the inn is perfectly placed for beach access. Our room was clean and just the right size for two adults, with simple, lovely decor. We especially liked the wallpaper in the lobby. The coffee and tea bar had several options and snacks. We highly recommend staying here!

It can be pricey, but you get what you pay for. The location is hard to beat, just steps from the Oak Bluffs ferry and right in the heart of OB. They keep fresh water, snacks, and beach great available. We come with a big family and rent two rooms. Honestly, I plan to stay here for the rest of my life.

My mom, sister, and I came for a short visit and had one of the best hotel experiences we've had, even though we travel quite a bit. It was among the cleanest places we've stayed. Hosts Mary and John were the icing on the cake: kind, professional, helpful, and delightful to talk with. They took care of anything we needed. There were nice extras, too: a morning coffee station with breakfast bars and fresh fruit, plus a freshly baked treat put out at 8am. Guests can use the community fridge and borrow umbrellas, and there were complimentary snacks in our room. Highly recommend.
