Hotel Circulo

Hotel Circulo is beautiful inside, with an impressive mix of pop art and what seemed like a subtle Frank Lloyd Wright–style influence. The furnishings and decor are high quality, it smelled fresh, and the hotel was impeccably clean. The surrounding area, though, didn’t feel as safe as I’d hoped. I hadn’t realized the room doors face the street and sidewalk, and our corner room on the third floor was visible from below. My 12-year-old daughter and I arrived around 6 p.m. for a cheer competition. As we were heading out to find food, a man on the sidewalk made eye contact with her, then shouted up, “Hey! Yo! Stop! Don’t come down just yet! It isn’t safe down here.” He laughed strangely afterward, and my daughter was frightened and started crying. The elevator needs an access code, so I thought we were relatively secure, but the encounter made me worry he might be waiting downstairs. We went back to the room until he left. It looked like anyone from the street could still walk up to the elevator, and although parking is under the building, I didn’t see any visible security. Traveling alone with a child, that made me uneasy. He was probably just trying to provoke or scare us for amusement, but we were shaken. We eventually went downstairs again, with my phone ready and car alarm on standby. Thankfully, he was gone. There are nice businesses nearby, but the area feels less secure just a block away, and most seemed closed when we arrived on a Saturday evening, except for a brewery we noticed. The hotel itself is thoughtfully designed and impressive. I’d feel more comfortable returning with my husband or extra safety measures.

The hospitality really stood out. Check-in was easy, and management kindly let me arrive early and check out late at no extra charge. Communication was warm, attentive, quick, and genuinely kind throughout. Hotel Circulo is charming and stylish, and spotless from top to bottom. My spacious corner room had four huge windows that brought in gorgeous daylight all day, plus a cozy sofa and seating area, smart TV, and a good desk for remote work. The bathroom was roomy and beautifully kept, with plush, quality towels. The bed, pillows, and luxurious bedding were so comfortable I didn’t want to get up. It’s great value and just a quick 10-minute walk to restaurants, bars, breweries, and shops in Park Circle. I’ve found my go-to place for Charleston and can’t wait to book again next month.

This brand-new North Charleston hotel felt secure and made the whole visit easy. The parking areas were well lit, key pin access was secure, and the staff were attentive. We arrived 2 hours before check-in and they got us into our room early. It’s only a 15-minute drive to Charleston, and the room had modern decor and a really comfortable bed. 10/10, I’ll be back.

Our room was spectacular, with modern furnishings, a super-comfortable king-size bed, and a welcoming sitting area. Julia, the hotel manager, was attentive and responsive. We didn’t need help, but I’m sure she’d have dealt with anything quickly. There’s no front desk, and check-in was handled by text and a keypad, which worked without a hitch. It was much better than the long line we “enjoyed” at a M****ot earlier in the trip. The hotel is just outside Park Circle, close to lots of restaurants and nightlife. A nice coffee shop next door covered our coffee and bakery breakfast needs. We had a wonderful few days at Hotel Circulo.
