Mountain View Resort

If you want peace and quiet, this place is perfect. Just know it’s in the middle of nowhere, and the pool and all the amenities are off-site at a different resort. The room was very nice and looks like they’ve started updating the rooms, though the furniture is pretty old and has seen better days. Staff are friendly when you can get in touch with them.

The staff were pleasant and informative, and the location was great, just a couple of blocks from Main St with access to routes to all the attractions. It wasn’t what we expected, but overall it was an okay place to stay. Our studio was set up in the usual way, but the kitchen had no stove. We went to Walmart and bought a two-burner hot plate, griddle, and one large and one small pot. That cost less than our first dinner out, and after that we had everything we needed. The building has three levels. We were in the walkout basement and had to carry all our stuff down the stairs, then back up. I didn’t mind the stairs much, but would rather go up than down. The internet was weak and kept dropping, and we lost cable TV twice. We spent most of our time sleeping in the comfortable king bed or out, so the place worked okay for that. The pool we’d been promised was a little way down the street at the Eastern Slope Inn. We brought our suits but hadn’t expected the pool to be off-site, and never made it there.

We had a very comfortable stay and couldn’t beat the vacation club price. The kitchen was great, but the condos are showing their age, so this isn’t the spot if you want something trendy or modern. My only complaint is that the advertised fitness equipment, pool, and hot tub aren’t on site. You have to drive to another resort in town to use the shared facilities. There are no views from the resort, though lots of beautiful trails are a short drive away.

Our three-bedroom unit was laid out nicely, with plenty of room for all ten of us, including four children. There isn’t much to do at the resort itself, but it’s a five-minute drive to the pool, gym, and other facilities at the Eastern Slope Inn. We’ll stay here again.
