The Buttonwood Inn on Mt. Surprise

We've been here twice and will be back. The Buttonwood Inn is a lovely, secluded place to relax, with colorful gardens, an inground pool, and rooms in a beautiful 250-year-old home. Donna and Doug were kind and caring innkeepers who looked after both the guests and the building. Breakfast was delicious.

Our large suite had its own entrance and parking just a few steps away, and we were welcomed into a sparkling clean, tastefully decorated space. There was quiet quality throughout The Buttonwood Inn, right down to the owners. Doug and Donna are lovely people who have done a wonderful job with this historic inn. They know the area well and gave us helpful recommendations for local attractions. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful, served piping hot and quickly. We had an unusually warm few spring days, even shirtsleeves weather atop Mount Washington, so we didn't need the fireplace. Doug turned on the Buttonwood's A/C just for us. We were very pleased with our B&B stay and can recommend The Buttonwood Inn without hesitation.

Donna and Doug were great hosts, and we found the rooms clean and comfortable. Breakfast was awesome too. My husband and I try to stay at a bed and breakfast on our trips, and this was one of our favorites during our recent NH vacation. It's a great area, and you won't be disappointed.

My husband and I usually choose hotels, but the area mostly has inns and B&Bs, so we booked this one. I'm so glad we picked it. Everything was extremely clean and felt new and fresh, and the rooms were decorated so nicely. The homemade breakfast was fantastic. You can tell the owners care about what they do and put their guests' comfort first. Do yourself a favor and book a room!
