The Alpine Lodge looks beautiful, but staying there was uncomfortable. My summary would be form over function. It's tastefully decorated with an Alpine and ski theme, and the location on Main St. in charming North Creek NY is great. The common room was dirty and clearly being used as an office. There was nowhere comfortable to sit in our room: just an unpleasant wooden rocking chair. There were hardly any flat surfaces either, only two tiny end tables and a small dresser, so it would have been nice to have somewhere to relax after skiing. There was no closet, no microwave, and no rugs, which left the wooden floor gritty. They provided seven makeup remover pads but no shampoo or conditioner. Most people go there to ski. I don't wear mascara to ski. The water was scalding hot, hot enough that someone could easily get burned. The staff were invisible, with nobody on site. My first phone conversation with a staff member went badly; he was rude and interrupted me mid-sentence. The worst issue was being charged twice for “amenities” advertised as free. I've stayed at hotels around the world and never had extra charges when paying for an all-inclusive stay. Alpine Lodge did this anyway. Crooks.

The people here are fabulous, and the lodge is five minutes from Gore. There’s a restaurant right in front, while shops, a grocery store, and a liquor store are all within walking distance. The rooms are large and very clean, with a well-stocked kitchenette, lots of towels, a Keurig, and a full-size fridge with freezer. The master bedroom and living area have large TVs, though there isn't one in the second bedroom. When we come back, we'll choose this place without hesitation. It's fabulous for skiers.

The manager at the front was very friendly, and the beds were comfy with soft towels. A few shower soaps were empty, though there was bar soap. There was a microwave and some basic kitchen supplies in the main lobby. I stayed here for a ski trip, and it was a decent place to stay.

Our room was clean and had a little balcony at the back. There's only one chair, so we had to take turns using it, and a small table would've been handy too. Space is tight, so maybe a queen bed would work better. I gave service a low rating only because this is an unstaffed motel. That said, automated texts and the adjoining lobby covered all our needs.

A clean, stylish place to crash with the family on a trip to Gore. We liked hanging out in the “Great Room” and eating takeout there. The staff were super friendly, and the morning breakfast snacks were a nice extra.
