Best Western Fort Myers Waterfront

Run! The room we booked was supposed to overlook the water, but our view was a roof covered in vents. We asked to move, and the other rooms we saw were just as bad: dirty throughout, with battered furniture and bedding that looked decades old. We checked under the blanket after seeing a review mention bed bugs, but didn't find any. After looking at two rooms, we asked for a refund. The front desk woman seemed prepared for the complaint, as though she'd heard it many times. The receptionist was kind, which was the only bright spot in an already long travel day. We managed to book a room at the Dounle Tree at the last minute. It cost much more, but was worth every penny. Don't spend your time or money here. The website photos look like they were taken years ago, and the positive reviews make me wonder if those guests stayed somewhere else.

Breakfast is served daily from 6:30 to 9:00 am in the dining area of the 3Fishermen restaurant. The room has tall windows facing the Bay, with a lovely view of the water and peer. The hot buffet includes waffles, sausage links, bacon, and scrambled eggs, plus coffee, tea, juice, milk, bagels, cream cheese, fresh apples, cereal, and muffins. My room, #661 on the 6th floor, was spacious and clean, with a perfect waterview. It had a large king bed, clean sheets, extra towels, a small fridge and microwave, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, TV, desk, small sofa with a pullout bed, and plenty of closet space for anyone traveling.

Breakfast on 12/30/25 was excellent, especially the sausages, cinnamon waffles, and omelets. The hotel itself is an older Best Western and the rooms need updating, with old carpet still in place. In room 112, the bathroom ceiling tiles rub against the door, the faucet is extremely hard to turn on, and the sink has no water pressure. The outlet behind the bed is coming out of the wall, and the lights flicker when mattress activity reaches the plugs. It was dirty behind the bed too.

The view from the balcony was gorgeous, but that didn't make up for the dirty room, the noise, or the safety concerns. There were streaks on every window and mirror, with hair on the walls and ceiling. The room opens directly to the outside like a motel, so you hear traffic from the main road and nearby conversations. People outside can also see which room you're in, which could be a safety issue for some. I called the front desk because the TV wasn't working. After waiting ten minutes, I spoke with a receptionist who was great and tried to help, but couldn't fix it. She said she'd add it to maintenance's list. I waited about an hour, then unplugged and reconnected everything myself, and finally got it working. I think the place is understaffed, which is a shame because the staff were helpful and the view is beautiful. From outside, it looks like every room has a gorgeous view.
