The renovated rooms are nice, and the staff have been polite. But I’m only five days into a 14-day stay, and it’s already been hard to focus on the good. Trains run behind the hotel around the clock, so avoid a room at the back if you can. There’s construction noise near the renovation work, the bathroom bulb was out, and the sink drains S L O W. Construction also knocked out the WiFi for hours one day. Housekeeping hadn’t come in once to replenish coffee, cups, or toilet paper during those five days. I understand linens are refreshed every three days, but leaving basic supplies unchecked and my trash cans full after five days without service is inexcusable. After the owner responded, I contacted the front desk last night. They immediately brought toilet paper, coffee, towels, and tissues. I hadn’t asked for the towels or tissues and didn’t need them, but appreciated the effort. The bulb was fixed today while I was out. I’d forgotten to mention the slow sink when I called, so I’ll call about it later. I was told by a desk clerk that I need to request anything I run out of, which doesn’t match the owner’s response that rooms can be resupplied daily if needed. I hope housekeeping is asked to check supplies and take out trash daily, and that the desk clerk gets the right information about the policy. I’ll call about the sink when I get back to my room.

They lost my business. I wanted to book a large number of rooms here for a wedding in June, but I never got a quote or any information about availability. I called Tuesday morning on 1/20 and was told someone would email me the details. After waiting two days, I called again on Thursday and was given a number for somewhere else, which still didn’t answer my questions. On 1/23, I went to the hotel hoping to speak with the Sales director. Someone at the front desk gave me an email address and said that was the easiest way to reach her. My message bounced back as undeliverable. When I called, they said she wasn’t in yet, and the woman gave me another address. I resent all the information I was looking for later that day. It’s now 1/25, and I still haven’t heard anything. I found the whole process extremely unprofessional. Anyone considering booking here should beware.

Steve made my daughter feel special on her birthday by putting together a treat for her at breakfast. It added a little magic to our trip. We also had a smooth welcome at the front desk, where Michelle was so friendly and made us feel at home. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this place!

The rooms have standard-sized beds, not queen beds, and when I asked to move to a queen room, they were fully booked. I can see why people might want to switch: noise carries between rooms, dogs bark, and the hallways have an intense carpet powder smell. Don’t stay here.

Dorene put together the yummiest food buffets for several meals over the weekend and worked within my budget. The staff were kind and gracious with three hockey teams there.
