Blue Beach Motel

That bathroom was small but very clean, and the purple black light setting on the light and fan was a fun touch. The king bed was comfortable, and we had a clean, updated room with plenty of parking in a good location. We were here for our anniversary, and enjoyed breakfast at the brew restaurant next door. Our stay included a 10% discount there, the coffee was nice and strong, and service was fast and friendly. Next time, I’d book the king suite to try the jacuzzi tub.

The price is hard to beat, and we’ll definitely come back. Our room had plenty of space, a good-sized fridge and microwave, and comfortable beds that were better than any chain hotel beds I’ve had. It was clean and seemed recently remodeled, though it’s still a motel room without many fancy amenities. Staff were friendly and fit us in for a very late check-in after we got held up in transit. The motel is a little north of URI in a quiet spot, near Wickford, a quaint town for strolling and finding food. There’s a brewery pub right in front that looked great, but we didn’t have time to try it. I’d highly recommend staying here.

We were in town for one night on October 6th, 2025, to visit wickford village. After we arrived, two more cars showed up for rooms next to ours. At first, our room looked clean, but while setting up my CPAP machine I spotted two large dead flies, one on the nightstand and another on the floor under the window. Then my wife cut her big toe on a crack in the fiberglass shower floor. I wrapped it in tissue and used a bandage from my wallet once the bleeding stopped. Accidents happen, but this became a bigger issue when the manager called two days later to say we’d be charged for a new shower floor. He said the crack was only a slight line before we checked in. My wife weighs 114 lbs, and it sounds like they knew about the damage before we even booked, yet put us in that room. Only three rooms were rented that night, and I can only guess they chose us hoping to blame an unsuspecting guest for a repair they already knew was needed. I called back today to say I was disputing the room charge with Amex. I spoke with Raj, who also called it just a line and said it didn’t go all the way through. Their dishonesty means they don’t deserve my business. Buyer beware.

Our room was spotless and comfortable, and the motel was reasonably priced. It’s a welcoming family-run place, and we had the best stay. We’re already planning a trip back to RI during the holidays and will stay here again. Thank you Blue Beach Motel!!
