Phillip, our server at Table 21/1, made breakfast at First Watch stand out. He was attentive, courteous, knowledgeable, and very professional. His dedication to customer service was clear, and he seems to have real leadership potential. The food was fresh, flavorful, and nicely presented, too. One of our best breakfast experiences. We’ll definitely be back, and Phillip deserves consideration for a management role.

We arrived with our group of six, including two kids, at 9:20, but weren’t seated until nearly 10, even after we asked twice about getting a table. A staff member said they were waiting until they were all “caught up,” while the host kept telling people the wait was ten minutes. Nearly all the tables were already cleared and clean. We stood there with close to twenty other people as servers looked straight at us without addressing anyone. There was no menu until we were seated, and by the time we reached the buffet, it was nearly empty. The hotel itself was nice, which made the cafe’s service to my family and me all the more unfortunate. I’ll never come back.

We ate there four times because we didn’t have to drive, but the advertised breakfast buffet was available only one morning. Staff said there weren’t enough people at the resort to offer it.

We don’t usually eat at the Bay Watch Resort restaurants, but the Bay Watch Cafe was a good choice this time, especially since it’s convenient and priced about like other places nearby. The server was wonderful. My wife and I shared the fried seafood platter, and it was huge, easily enough even if we’d been hungrier. The Calabash-style breading was light and tasted great. Our 14-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter shared shrimp alfredo and mozzarella sticks. The alfredo was good and plenty for two.

We chose this hotel hoping we wouldn’t have to leave for dinner, but we still had to go out to find decent food. The website and other information say the cafe is open daily at certain hours, yet it’s closed for dinner all week except Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. They need to post accurate hours. If the restaurants matter to your decision, stay somewhere else.
