The realtor I rented through was great, but the HOA representative made the stay uncomfortable. I was told my unit had two parking spaces when I booked, so I rented a golf cart for the week for my son and me. Even though the lot was nowhere near full and at least 10 spaces stayed open all week, a man representing the Ocean Terrace HOA complained to the realtor that my unit was using two spaces. He also told the realtor that my teenage son and his friend were coming in late. They were out surf fishing, and I don't think there's a curfew in America. I found it creepy that the HOA guy was keeping tabs on the boys. The realtor then asked me to move the cart to the overflow lot. We did, but the HOA man came to my door, talked over me, and rudely threatened to have it towed unless I moved it right away. Luckily, I had friends renting a house a block away who let me park it there. If you're looking for a relaxing stay, be aware that someone seems to be watching you.
