Malibu Resort Motel

We're locals, but booked a beach room for our anniversary and had a really fun getaway. The motel is cozy and quaint, with an old Florida feel that took me back in time. Everything was very clean, and we loved the pool. It was such a good stay that we'll be back for more staycations.

The room was clean and had been updated nicely, and check-in was quick and simple with the self-service setup. We only stayed one night, but the pool area, with its grill and little sandy beach, was a nice place to spend time. Coffee in the morning came with a good choice of creamers. The beach is just across the street, with a convenient crosswalk. One issue overnight was the amount of light coming in, since the outdoor lights are bright and the curtains are pretty thin. Still, we'd gladly return when we're in the area.

Dinner was easy to sort out since there's a grill on site, and the restaurant's Fettichini Carbonara was fantastic. The heated pool was nice too. The motel is adorable and sits right across from the beach, with a clean room and a pretty comfortable bed. The owner and staff were all so pleasant. Their Christmas lights were up when we visited, and they were absolutely adorable, perfect for a quick family picture. We'll definitely stay again.

The grounds were kept in great shape, and the location worked perfectly for us, with beach access nearby and a few restaurants within walking distance. We were in town for a friend's wedding. Our room was a decent size with nice, simple furniture, though the bathroom felt very dated and I found quite a few hairs in there. The shower had lots of hot water and good pressure, but the tub looked recently redone and was peeling, so I didn't use it. When someone showered upstairs, the noise in our bathroom was really loud. The vintage windows were neat, though they let in plenty of outside noise. We didn't have time to try the pool, but heard it was heated. There's just one parking space per room, so keep that in mind. I liked getting updates by text. We'd come back, perhaps on the top floor, or we'd make sure to book one of the renovated rooms shown on the website.
