UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge

Wish we'd booked more nights. briar house sleeps 10, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. There are balconies and patios all around, a full kitchen, two living rooms, and firewood included. Parking fits three cars in the driveway and one more in the side area. Lots to see and do, and I'd definitely stay here again.

The grounds were so peaceful and nicely kept, and the rooms were extremely nice. I came for a group retreat, arriving on a quiet Tuesday afternoon, and check-in was easy, with my room ready quickly. We had a group dinner and everything tasted good, from the soup and salad to the main dish. The plum cheesecake was especially good. The gym is on the small side, but you can still work out, and there's a Jacuzzi open there too. I'd definitely come back.

The snowstorm was already underway when I arrived, with deep drifts, icy paths, and strong winds. Walking into UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge felt like a relief: the fireplace was lit, hot tea and hot chocolate were out, and the bar and restaurant were open. After the drive through the mountain conditions, the cozy welcome and the kind, accommodating staff meant a lot. I had to change my plans at the last minute because of a power outage at the hotel where I had planned to stay. Before driving over, I called and spoke with Tatihana, who confirmed the lodge had power and was fully operating. That reassurance helped a lot in the winter weather. Getting to my room turned out to be difficult with a large suitcase on the icy stairs, so I asked to move rooms. Tatihana was patient and professional throughout, without showing frustration, and focused on making sure I was comfortable. Tyler also helped by bringing a new key to me in person, which made changing rooms much easier during the storm. Their care and teamwork made a potentially stressful situation feel genuinely warm and positive. I'm sincerely grateful for the responsiveness and hospitality I received.

We accidentally left my son's beloved teddy bear behind, and Kelly Jones, the Guestrooms Manager, found Teddy and sent us a lovely letter from him, along with photos of his “adventures” around the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge. My son was overjoyed that Teddy was safe and happy, and it made his night. That thoughtful gesture meant so much to our family. Kelly's care turned what could have been stressful into something joyful and heartwarming, and we'll always remember it. We had a wonderful stay, and the kindness of the staff, especially Kelly, really stood out. We're deeply grateful to her and the Lodge for such a memorable moment. We can't wait to visit again.
