Residence Inn By Marriott Sand City Monterey

Getting around was easy, with quick highway access and about a 10-minute drive to Carmel without traffic. Costco and other stores are right nearby, and there’s plenty of parking. The complimentary breakfast had lots of good choices, and the staff were very friendly. The grounds stayed spotless throughout our visit. Our room was upgraded without any trouble as a Marriott Gold Elite member. It was spacious and spotless, and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel is brand new, and that fresh, modern feel shows throughout. We had a fantastic stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott Sand City and would definitely return to the area.

Tina was an outstanding manager for our recent event at the Marriott, held in the hotel courtyard. I hope I’ve remembered her name correctly! She dealt with a microphone problem with lightning speed and kept her humor, while making sure our guests were taken care of before checking back in with us. Her professionalism is the kind I wish every professional had. Everything was in place, and the food arrived right on time. The hotel itself was also gorgeous, clean, and wonderful. Tina alone would bring me back for another event. Thank you so much for being such an amazing professional, Tina!

My four-year-old granddaughter got such kind, attentive care from the staff. The rooms were spacious, with luxurious linens and a really comfortable bed. There’s also a cute playground, guest e-bikes, and the beach is just a block away. Costco is across the street; the hotel faces its back side, so it wasn’t an issue, and it was handy for snacks. I didn’t see the hot tub, but heard it was huge. The hotel had only been open about a week when I stayed on January 30. The rest of my family stayed for two more nights.

I enjoyed the fire pits and heated pool, they gave the place a great vibe. The main hotel area and restaurant are really nice, with a lovely outdoor space. Breakfast was better than at other hotels with complimentary breakfast, and the rooms were clean. The staff were attentive and nice. At check-in I was given the wrong room. When I called, staff were prompt and helpful, but the room was changed twice, and I’m waiting for a refund. The pillows were cheap and flat, and parking was charged, so I’d park on the street instead. Even with those problems, I did enjoy my stay.
