Woodstock Inn Station & Brewery

We spent quite a lot ordering about 15 items, expecting at least basic service, and left feeling disrespected. All six hot chocolates came only half full, and the fruit cup had very few pieces, which were visibly moldy. The photos showed exactly what we received. We’d picked this restaurant after seeing its good Google reviews, so the experience was a huge disappointment. The server rolled his eyes and spoke down to us when we asked questions, and our questions were brushed off. Given the prices, we expected decent quality and service. I’ve never had food or treatment this terrible at a restaurant.

We drive more than an hour for the food, which is a real treat. The portions are generous, the quality is impeccable, and the beers are top notch and well priced. It’s a cozy restaurant and bar with a huge fireplace. If you leave hungry, something must be wrong with you. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in its work and knows how to handle fresh ingredients. Brendan cooked our meal perfectly, he deserves a raise. Robin made sure we had the best possible experience as our server. With service and kitchen staff like that, we’ll keep making the drive. We’re hoping to try the Inn soon, too.

We picked this breakfast spot because our lodge gave us a $100 food voucher. I wish we’d gone somewhere else. The experience felt uncomfortable from the beginning. Our server said we couldn’t order from the kids’ menu without an entrée, even though we were willing to pay the extra charge. The policy was one thing, but the rude attitude made us feel rushed and unwelcome. The hot chocolates and fruit cups were only half full, the strawberries were moldy, and the home fries were dry and overcooked. We were still going to tip until the last interaction. Our order was dropped off without explanation, utensils, straws, or anything for the bagels and fruit. We were handed a pile of bags and ignored. All we expected was kindness. Our vacation ended on a sour note, and by then we’d forgotten the tip. Basic hospitality costs nothing, and this place didn’t provide it.

The staff and servers were friendly, helpful, and accommodating, and there were plenty of good choices on both the dinner and breakfast menus. Our family of seven, five adults and two kids, stayed in two rooms at the Inn. Both were very clean, comfortable, and well appointed. We had a great experience at the Inn and Brewery/brewpub, and both meals were very good. We’d definitely recommend it.
