I picked Northfield at random while wandering around the Northeast during a business trip, and I’m so glad it led me to Centennial House. Joan and Steve made the stay memorable with easy conversation, laughter and a chance to relax. Their dog, Lucy, is a jewel, too. The room was beautiful, the bed was very comfortable, and I loved seeing the architecture on the 1811 side of the house. I’m grateful Joan and Steve have kept this gem in such good condition. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. I remembered to take a picture only after a few bites of the blueberry overnight french toast and baked apple.

Breakfast deserves its own mention. Joan cooks wonderfully, and you can tell she puts love into it. The house is gorgeous, our room was beautifully decorated, and the bed was the most comfortable ever, really cozy. But what made the stay was the owners, Joan and Steve. They’re warm, genuine and so welcoming. My fiance and I were blown away by Centennial House Inn. We’re planning to return lots of times and stay in each room more than once. If you get the chance to stay here, do it. You won’t be disappointed.

We felt like we’d made new friends by the time we left, after such lovely conversations with Joan and Steve. Joan’s breakfasts were delicious, served nicely in a comfortable dining area. We stayed in the Deerfield Suite and had a wonderful time, with a very comfortable bed, lots of fluffy towels, and a relaxing bath or shower. The 200 year old house is quiet and well cared for. Centennial House Bed and Breakfast is just the relaxing place we were hoping to find. Sandra and Dave

Joan and Steve were so welcoming, and Joan made a delicious breakfast for us. She even prepared a gluten-free blueberry scone to go with our omelets for my dietary request. Our room was clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable, with deluxe linens and lovely thick towels. We had a delightful stay at the Centennial House last week, and I’d definitely recommend it.

We stopped here on the way to Stowe VT and again on our trip home. The grounds were inviting and relaxing, the hosts made us feel welcome, and breakfast was a delicious start to each day. Our rooms were clean and perfectly appointed. We’d love to come back and will recommend it to anyone.
