Hillcrest Motel

What upset me most was waking up with bed bug bites all over my neck, arm, and side. I called the motel to ask for a refund and they hung up on me. Earlier, people had been drinking and playing loud music outside my door late at night, then someone pounded on it at 2am. There was no peephole or window to see who it was. I might not have written a review over those things alone. The manager is fantastic, but the rest was anything but. Pay a little more and stay across town.

The shower was good, and the lady who checked us in was nice. The room hadn't been made up, and the toilet handle was broken, so flushing took just the right touch. At least they didn't charge any more than they did. The towels were too small.

There’s plenty of parking, and the employees seem to be doing what they can with the resources they have. Prices are good. There’s a pool, though I’m not sure it works, and I’m guessing it doesn’t. The room carpet was grimy enough that I kept my shoes on, which at least meant no cold feet. The air conditioner was loud enough to replace a white noise machine, and the mattress bounced around whenever the person next to me moved. The room smelled like my grandma, or maybe my Great Aunt Tessy. It badly needs a makeover, though at those prices I can see why that may not be feasible. The door key is an electronic code, but they don’t seem to change it between customers. At least it’s a metal key and not one of those cards that deactivate if you look at them funny. For buildup on the faucets, try soaking them in white vinegar.

Lori made us feel comfortable and was so nice and helpful. Her customer service was excellent. I really enjoyed our stay. Happy New Year, and Lori needs a raise.
