Comfort Inn Norwalk - Sandusky

The overnight staff made check-in a very nice experience, but the room was filthy: stains on the walls and floor, bugs and someone else's hair in the bed, and a toilet marked with urine and other stains. The back door lock was broken and the door was left unlocked. At checkout, the manager stayed in his back office and wouldn't come out to discuss it.

It was noisy all night, and at 10:45, just before the 11 o'clock checkout, I was already getting calls asking if we were leaving. The bathroom flooded, but they refused to clean it, handed us towels, and tried to give us a mop. The pool wasn't clean, the WiFi wouldn't work, and the answer was, “just keep trying it, idk.” One bed looked like its sheets hadn't been changed at all. It used to be so nice here, sad to see it go downhill. Wouldn't recommend.

Awful, awful and scary. We checked in at 5, and I was walking out at 8:30. The bedding had stains that looked like bodily fluids and dried blood. I told the man at the front desk, and he made me take him upstairs and show him. He said it didn't matter and he knew it was clean despite the stains. I told him I wouldn't sleep in that. He stood in the doorway yelling at me to get out, and I had to push past him to get out of the doorway. I contacted the company I booked through, but they said they couldn't do anything. I was harassed and made to feel uncomfortable, and still had to pay. I'd post the gross pictures if it let me.

I was meant to check in that day, but the lobby and surrounding area looked disgusting, unkempt, and unclean. No one was at the desk, so I rang the bell and called the number on the note. While I waited, a couple came down after looking at several rooms and told me and three other people checking in that they were all very dirty and "gross." They said the desk manager had told them they were "too clean and should stay someplace else." I left right away and called my travel agent. My agent reached manager Cosmo and tried to cancel the reservation. She was told the hotel was privately owned and it was too late to cancel, so they would charge me $119.04. I then called Choice Privileges to report it. Their Customer Experience agent put me and Cosmo on a three-way call, explained the situation and asked about canceling. He shouted into the phone, "No, too bad...Good bye!" Unfortunately, I'm out the money.
