Hotel Savoy Kansas City, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

The historic building has fun architecture and design, and the front desk and restaurant staff were warm and friendly. The hotel itself is nice, though it’s undergoing renovations that are expected to continue for a few more months, something I didn’t know before arriving. Parking was the major problem. PMC, the valet company the hotel uses, requires guests to request cars through its text and web system. It failed twice during my two-night stay. Hotel staff couldn’t request the car for me, and neither PMC nor the Savoy took responsibility because PMC is a third party. I wouldn’t park here.

Savoy Grill and the bar downstairs are always a treat. The Savoy Hotel has become my go-to in KC. I like how the historic character is paired with modern updates, and the furnishings and fabrics feel high quality. The rooms are spacious for a city hotel, with large pillows and good sheets. The staff are kind and helpful.

The late-night help really stood out. I messaged at midnight because I sleep hot and the AC fan only went down to low. They promptly left a large fan outside our door, and offered to have a technician check the AC the next day or move us if needed. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the bathrooms looked great. We also liked the spacious room with its big windows and the hotel’s boutique style, which keeps its historic finishes. Staff at the front desk were friendly and accommodating. The location is great, within walking distance of Mildred’s, with plenty of street parking and covered parking available. My husband tried the burger at the bar and rated it a solid 9/10. The price seemed reasonable, and we’ll stay again when we’re back in KC.

The bed and pillows were the best I’ve had in a hotel, and we slept really well. The plastic wrap on the bed wasn’t ideal, though. The bar was a highlight too, especially the bartenders. If they’re available, I’d try all four appletini flavors. We did have a room-service problem, but a quick chat with the desk sorted it out. We arrived a little early and got checked in without any fuss, which hasn’t been my experience at quite a few Hiltons lately. The staff were kind and attentive. We’ve had few hotel stays this good in a long time, and I’d recommend this place if you’re in KC.
