Parking on-site made traveling with a child and luggage easier, and the restaurant and bar downstairs were a nice part of the stay. The drinks were good, the food decent, and I liked the atmosphere there. There were complimentary snacks in the waiting area, guests could use the gym, and they brought a microwave to our room when I asked. I could also charge restaurant purchases to the room. I stayed at Hotel Nyack with my son for his birthday, and we came away with a lovely memory. The design has a modern, moody feel, with lighting, fixtures, and lounge areas that seemed thoughtfully put together without making the hotel feel cold. Housekeeping were especially kind. Junibel and Estephania at the front desk were welcoming and helpful, and Junibel made a point of recognizing my son's birthday, which meant a lot to me. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. One had a curtain partly pulled loose, and another felt a little under-furnished by comparison, but those weren't major problems. The pool was closed during our visit, though I know it's available seasonally.

The room looked cool and trendy, but we had nowhere to park because of events, even though we'd booked a room. The staff had no suggestions when we asked and didn't seem to try to help. There were children screaming and running around at all hours, too. It felt like the hotel hadn't planned for guests' parking or cared much about their experience. The service and handling of it were poor. Making money seemed to matter more than thinking ahead for guests. Maybe stay somewhere more professional.

I liked being able to open the windows. A translucent shade would be better than the adhesive covering that's there now. We chose the cemetery-facing room, which was much quieter and had nice green grass to look at. The balcony option costs extra for a view, but it looks out first onto highway ramps and the road, with the Hudson in the distance. The old factory idea and bold, colorful design are great, but the execution falls short. The furniture is worn, with broken buttons and peeling vinyl. I did like the Johnathan Adler amenities. They advertise free breakfast, but what we saw was one rectangular table with water, coffee, and brown-spotted bananas.

The food at The Farm was great, and our King sized bed was really comfortable. The staff were friendly and the room was nice. I stayed with my boyfriend over Columbus Day weekend and had a great time. The walls are thin, so you can hear the neighbors. It was less of an issue since the hotel wasn't as booked then, and the original metal structure probably affects the insulation. Just know Hyatt charges a $100 incidental fee plus a nonrefundable $27 resort fee. My incidental deposit came back within a few days of checkout, so that part was fine. I'd definitely return.

We were excited to support a local hotel and make our daughter's ninth birthday special, so it was disappointing when we couldn't find a way to make the plan work. We wanted two rooms so she could spend the day at the pool with three friends, then, after they left, my wife, our daughter, my aunt, and I would stay overnight. We first asked about day passes and were told children can't use the pool on weekends because adults are drinking. We offered to book two full rooms instead, but that wasn't accommodated either. Check-in is at 4 PM, and they wouldn't allow an early check-in, even when we offered to pay extra. It felt like every possible solution was dismissed instead of anyone trying to help.
