I was here in December for work, so a beach trip wasn't the point. In summer, I can imagine the spot being great for beach access and nearby amenities, especially with the brewery right next door. But the steep, narrow stairs and lack of parking are a real hassle if you're carrying bags. The hotel isn't staffed regularly, so you have to text when you need help. I was lucky someone was there when I arrived, since I never received the message about getting a key. My top-floor room was freezing and drafty, with four windows, and very noisy. Trucks woke me at 6am. You need to be independent and flexible to stay here comfortably. Knowing that, $500-700 a night in summer is mind blowing.

The room was clean and had a nice feel, and we even got upgraded to a suite for free. Staff were friendly, check-in with the electronic code was simple, and Oak Bluffs Ferry is just a short walk away. Great hotel!

We liked sitting on the porch at the start and end of the day, and the place felt clean with a nice vibe. There are an Italian restaurant and a pub on either side, and we recommend both. The walk from Oak Bluff Ferry was quick. We got a text alert and an electronic key access link saying the room was available for noon check-in, then staff greeted us when we arrived. The complimentary upgrade to a suite was a great surprise, and everyone was super nice. Exterior electronic access might feel intimidating to some, but there's also an easy 4 digit code. We hope to try this property's other locations.

Oak Bluff keeps you out and about, so the room setup wasn't a dealbreaker, even though the canopy bed and corner TV made it hard to get a clear view of the screen. The hotel has a real vibe, and both the staff and customer service were amazing. My only complaint was cleanliness: we found stray hairs in the linen and brought our own sheets.

Oak Bluffs is wonderfully convenient from here: you can walk to the shops, ferry terminal, buses, and pretty much everything else. The ferry and buses are about an 8 min walk away. That central spot also meant constant noise for us in room 9, above the patio and across from the local Ale restaurant. We could hear people laughing and talking, plus cars passing with their radios on. The room was average, with a small closet for luggage and a TV that was far away, though it was a smart TV with Netflix and YouTube. The AC worked despite its worn remote, which only adjusts by 2s. The bathroom was awkward: its door hits the toilet and won't open fully, and the shower has only one glass panel and no door, so you have to stand farther in and hope water doesn't splash out. There's free water, coffee, and ice in the lobby. No elevator, so the stairs may be a problem if walking up and down them is difficult. We stayed three nights. Check-in went smoothly because a staff member was at the desk to unlock the door. There's a paper on the door with instructions for downloading an app, as other reviewers mentioned. We didn't try it, and because we booked through a site other than the hotel's own, we didn't have an account anyway. Staff were friendly and around fairly often, though not always at the desk. Checkout was easy with staff in the lobby. One day, when we came back to drop things off and head out again, a couple followed us to the entrance. As we were leaving, they forcibly held open the door that was supposed to lock behind us. That wasn't the hotel's fault, but it felt unpleasant, and the hotel itself didn't feel very safe. Our stay was alright, without anything especially good or bad, but I don't think we'd return.
