Captain's Cove Motel

We come back several times a year, often with more than 15 family members, because the price is good and the people are friendly. It’s hard to find a place like this these days, a real mom-and-pop stop. The owners are nice and laid back, and the staff are friendly and around the grounds. It’s always clean and looked after when we visit. Captains Cove has a rustic beach feel, with nostalgic rooms that make it feel like going back in time. We feel like family here. The pool is clean, and my kids love the kiddie pool.

This is the only motel I stay at when I’m in town, as long as they haven’t booked up. It’s a quaint little place with the friendliest staff, and it’s my favorite on Oak Island. Thanks for making every visit such a wonderful experience!

I checked into room 217 on Feb 11th 2026 around 5:30, then checked out at 8:30, just three hours later. The room was crawling with roaches, on the fridge and under the bed. I turned the lights off and back on, and the carpet looked like it was moving. When I went to the front desk to check out, I asked for a refund and the woman refused at first, even though I’d only been there three hours. She eventually gave me cash.

We’ve been here since October 2023, and it’s a quiet place to unwind. The staff are great and friendly. I love the summertime, when the pool is always clean and free of debris. Mrs. Linda is the sweetest lady I’ve ever met, and she’s always doing her best to keep the place going strong. I recommend it to anyone wanting a good time with family and friends, the beach, and all the fun Oak Island activities.
