I reported what happened to both the police and management, but management ignored the money I said was stolen and wouldn't take my case. Cleaning staff entered my room with a spare key and opened my safe deposit box. I believe they took my money. I know exactly which staff member I believe was responsible. Later, I booked again because this hotel is closest to my work. I had already paid, but after I arrived in Chicago and got to the hotel, they refused to give me a room. I believe they rejected my booking because I had left a truthful review about the safety and staff. That cost me more time and money, and I had to find another hotel. Be careful if you stay here. I wouldn't return, and I wouldn't leave valuables in the room when you go out.

The street-facing windows did little to block the six-lane road, and music from the bar pounded until midnight. The hotel should have control over that. The pool also shuts at 7 pm for no clear reason, even though wristbands are required to keep non-guests out. The conference setup was one makeshift room on the second floor, and the stairs seemed like the best way to get there. The elevators were unnerving: a few times I stood inside waiting more than a minute for the doors to close. Our luggage cart also couldn't get over the raised tile lip, which looked like tile had been laid over the old floor. They tout a 2024 remodel, so I hate to imagine how it was before. My key card stopped working 30 minutes before the stated checkout, leaving a scramble and wait at the desk that cut into conference time. Not worth another visit.

Good location and service, but the rooms feel like a run-down motel. The carpet feels gross, the windows are losing their weather seal, and you can hear the elevator from rooms away. The walls, railings, edges, and tub are all beat up. I'd stay somewhere else.

The location is okay, but management's dishonesty made us cancel our reservation and book the Westin instead. If you're military, they still require a deposit even though the website clearly says no deposit is required under that rate.
