Best Western Plus Rama Inn & Suites

The price was pretty good, and the staff were friendly. Our room was clean, but the bed was extremely uncomfortable, and there was a strong marijuana smell. That's not the staff's fault, since that odor can be hard to get rid of. If they hadn't been so friendly, I'd have rated this three stars. This may be the best option in Oakdale, though if I return to the area I'd probably stay in Modesto.

I needed a convenient place to stay for one night, and having a BW nearby made the choice easy. The room felt modern, was clean, and was comfortable. The afternoon/evening front desk agent was lovely and kind. Breakfast was mostly complete, though I'd suggest adding more choices like fruit and yogurt.

The sauna is why I like this particular Best Western Plus Rama Inn & Suites. It's by the fitness center, just off the indoor pool area, rather than inside the pool room. I booked the Executive King and enjoyed the in-room jacuzzi. The location was great for me too, since I could walk to my massage appointment and then dinner.

My parents had a very disappointing interaction after checkout. While my mother was waiting in the lobby, a front desk employee asked whether she'd seen the hair dryer, making it sound as if it was missing. English is her second language, so she struggled to explain that she hadn't used it or even noticed it. When my father arrived, the agent said they usually charge guests for a missing hair dryer. He explained that they hadn't taken anything and couldn't say whether the dryer had been there, but the employee stayed rude and unprofessional. She said theft was common and kept treating my parents as if they were responsible. Accusing guests without evidence is a serious customer service failure.
