Holiday Motel Oakdale

I booked through booking.com the same morning as a business trip, but the trip was cancelled with no reschedule date confirmed. Booking couldn’t help me cancel and said I’d be charged unless I contacted the motel directly. I explained the circumstances and said I planned to book again once the dates were settled. Since check in was that same day, I hoped they’d be flexible and keep my business. The woman said her boss was strict and that cancelling it would mean the bill came out of her personal paycheck. That’s astronomically inappropriate, and I hope it isn’t true. She wouldn’t answer when I called back to speak with a manager. I’m blown away by how horrible this experience was. Please don’t stay at a hotel that makes illegal payroll deductions like that.

I stayed here for several months because things at home were bad. Until rodeo weekend 2025, everything was amazing. The staff were friendly, and if anything went wrong, it was fixed within an hour. Then the owners started changing things. Suddenly my cat wasn’t allowed anymore. He’s a service animal, although I don’t have the paperwork for him yet. They said I could stay, but he had to go. They also wanted to keep the rodeo weekend rates instead of returning to the pre rodeo weekend rates, as we’d been promised. I chose to leave because I can’t be without my cat, who’s both my best friend and a medical device. The road in front of the holiday is super busy and dangerous to get onto, and emergency vehicle sirens are constant. Several times, people drove by at night and threw fireworks from their cars. I also saw a SWAT team sent into the room of someone staying there.

They took really good care of me. The staff was courteous and very friendly.

The rooms could use an update, but I was happy with my stay and would come back whenever I get the chance. The staff is amazing and goes above and beyond. The hotel being under new management was a great choice. Thanks again, Holiday.
