The room felt dirty and overpriced by the time I left. There were dusty, grimy vents, edges, and hinges, along with peeling bathroom wallpaper, cracked drywall, loose or missing molding, and a cheap, uncomfortable mattress. The tub faucet was loose and didn't work right, so about 30% of the water kept flowing while the shower ran, leaving weak pressure. Caulk was loose or missing in places too. The toilet rocked and thumped when I stood up, and kept running unless I jiggled the handle. I asked for it to be fixed Monday, but it was still like that Thursday. With my toolbox I could've tightened it in five minutes. At this price I'd expect better upkeep. Coworkers staying there had similar wear and tear. One had a showerhead fall off when he turned it on, though he fixed it by threading it back on, and he found feces in the toilet, which suggests the room hadn't been cleaned well. There was graffiti on the elevator signage, and one ice machine was broken. Police were called to the hotel twice during my trip, even though the area is nice. Staff seemed friendly when I reported the toilet, but the lack of follow-through was disappointing. I've stayed at similarly priced hotels in MSP and Seattle with much better facilities. This place could be fine with more attention to maintenance and detail.

Cheryl made a personal connection when I checked in, and Jesse and Danielle took the time to coordinate and help me find the medical equipment I'd left behind after checkout. I'm very grateful for their thoughtfulness. The Oakdale Garden Inn staff are incredible, and the hotel is lovely. The rooms are comfortable too. I'll stay again.

The staff were attentive and worked hard to find us a working remote after we told them it was missing, which I appreciated. We like having background noise. I checked in through the Hilton app, which said the room was ready, and the digital key got us in. The room looked fine at first, but there was no TV remote and the in-room safe was broken. Luckily I didn't need the safe. The main light also kept dimming on its own, maybe because of a bad bulb.

We could hear our neighbor's whole phone conversation through the thin walls, even though he spoke pretty softly, and every movement from the room above sounded huge. The carpet was stained, sticky, and grimy, and the bathroom floor was sticky too. There was mold along the shower, and the rooms feel very dated. I'm really disappointed in the quality and how badly this hotel needs improvements. I'd recommend staying somewhere else.
