Clegg's Hotel

The bathroom looked new and modern, though I can’t say the same about the rest of the room. I’d booked an ocean view, but my windows didn’t face the ocean. The photos shown were taken from the two windows in suite B. Breakfast was advertised as complimentary, but when I arrived Tarryl said they hadn’t offered it for quite a while. He said he could arrange a purchase or refund me $10. It was my first time on the island, so I can’t compare this hotel with others nearby.

Being right in Ocean Beach made it easy to get to the restaurants, shops, and beach, and it felt like a proper Fire Island stay. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. Staff were warm and quick to help with whatever we needed. I had a wonderful time at Clegg’s Hotel and would absolutely recommend it to someone looking for a convenient place to stay.

Tyler was so helpful throughout our stay, and even mailed back the things we accidentally left behind. Clegg’s Hotel had what we needed for the 4th of July weekend. The location was just right, and having beach chairs, umbrellas, and bikes included meant we could travel light. Thanks for everything!

The housekeeping team was lovely and worked hard, and they provide two beach chairs with back straps plus an umbrella. I booked a week before my summer dates and the price was right. The location is across from the ferry and on the other side faces the village’s main strip, which is handy if you’re there to party. I’m an early sleeper and wanted to spend most of my time at the beach, so it didn’t work as well for me. The club across the street was outrageously loud, louder than anything I’ve experienced. Ocean Beach also had tight rules about food and even iced coffee on the sand, so I took the ferry to another beach during the day.
