Americana Motor Inn

For a quick overnight stop in Ocean City on our way home from the Outer Banks, being right by the boardwalk was the main thing I wanted, and this hotel worked well. Parking on the property was free, and check-in and checkout were easy. The staff were friendly, and the room was comfortable, reasonably clean, and adequate. The property is a bit rough around the edges, the ice maker was very dirty, and the tub and shower could have been cleaner. The bed was extra firm, but I preferred it to memory foam.

The hard beds and difficult parking are the main drawbacks for us. Once the car was parked, we couldn't really move it, though nearby food made that manageable. We were fine walking to mini golf, too. A switch for the balcony light would help, since it was really annoying at night. We've stayed at Americana three times now, first at the 10th location and later in the condos. We love the beautiful view, nice rooms, affordable price, and especially the sweet employees. One receptionist always chatted with us when we came down in the elevator and even gave my son a frisbee for being good. As someone in customer service, I know that's the kind of employee who keeps people coming back. We stayed 08/07/2025 to 08/11/2025, and we'll keep choosing Americana motor inn for our family vacations.

The bedding was stained, including the sheets and the tops of the blankets. There were awful stains in the tub, and paint was peeling around the door frames and throughout the bathroom. The room was dirty, and parking, which was listed as a perk, was nonexistent. The desk staff tried to be pleasant, but they didn't speak English and couldn't answer our questions.

We had a clean, comfortable room with a great fourth-floor view of the ocean, beach, boardwalk, and bay. The location was great, but parking was absolutely horrible. There was literal poop on the floor and wall in the hallway to our room, and the maids left it there. The lobby air freshener gave all of us headaches, and the elevator was slow. Eh, can't have everything.
