Blue Water Inn

The rooms are decrepit, moldy, dirty, and smell awful. The floors aren’t level, and I can’t believe the place passes inspection. It seems like it’s sinking. One young woman on staff did her best to help, and her service wasn’t bad. We had no towels, no toilet paper, and the room light didn’t work. She brought lamps and the other things as quickly as she could, but she shouldn’t have been put in that position. The cleaning staff clearly aren’t doing anything!

The mildew smell was overwhelming, and we left that night instead of staying, even though we’d booked for just one night. The bathroom was unbelievably small. The shower sprayed outside the stall, right beside a partly broken toilet seat. Only one outlet worked, since the others were literally fried. The room light was out too, so all we had was a small bedside lamp. Check-in was oddly late even for a shore hotel. For the price, it was a complete rip-off. Do yourselves a favor and avoid it.

A few days before our stay, which we’d booked months earlier, I got a text saying a passcode to enter the hotel would arrive by text. We waited outside for 30 minutes past check-in time with no code. The hotel wouldn’t answer calls, texts, or emails. Two other supposed guests were waiting in the same situation. Online, we found that the owner of Blue Water owns three other hotels in the area. Staff at another hotel told us Blue Water was “closed” and our reservation had been moved to a different hotel five blocks away. Blue Water kept messaging to ask how our stay was, but never replied to us or sent a passcode or any notice about the transfer. Calling this terrible service is inaccurate. There was no service at all. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

The room was disgusting. The shower barely worked, the carpets were filthy, and there was a missing ceiling tile in the bathroom with the ceiling exposed. I asked for another room, but none were available, so we were stuck there for two nights. Probably one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. Management should be ashamed. We arrived at 11 PM to find the front desk closed, with a note directing me to the hotel across the street for my key. I walked there, got the key and parking pass, then came back to find the only spot left blocked by two garbage cans and three open trash bags. I moved the trash, so I ended up smelling like it. My wife and daughter went to the room and found the AC broken. I walked back to the other hotel for help, and they replaced the unit. The whole ordeal took 30 minutes.
