The setting is quiet, easy to get around, and more rural, with less congestion at this end of the city. There are some great restaurants nearby too. The hotel itself is cozy and clean, and honestly the best Candlewood I’ve stayed at so far, even though I visit around 170 IHG locations a year for work. Ms. Chantavia made check-in smooth, warm, and quick. She’s wonderful and really makes you feel important. I hope she’s paid properly for her expertise and excellent customer service. My room was cozy, clean, and smelled fresh, like it had just been serviced. The bed was comfortable, and the sundry shop has a huge selection, as the pictures show. I recommend this place to fellow travelers with full conviction. You won’t be disappointed!

The hotel was immaculately clean inside and out, from the fresh linens to the well-kept lobby. They’ve covered the necessities and the little details that make a stay comfortable and stress-free. Chantavia deserves a special thank-you for going above and beyond. She was helpful, professional, and kind, and made my stay comfortable. The service exceeded my expectations from the moment I arrived. I’m impressed and will absolutely return. Highly recommend it for comfort, cleanliness, and outstanding service!

Max was welcoming when I checked in and recommended Charlie Parkers Diner for breakfast. The beds were comfortable, the rooms spacious, and the showers hot. I stayed here on 10.15.2025 while traveling through Illinois. I’ll definitely return and highly recommend this location to anyone passing through Springfield. KUDOS!

Smokey Bones is right across the road, and it’s fantastic. That’s about the only good thing I can say. The room was pathetic: the mattress seemed like it might have been the original from when the hotel opened in 2009, and the bed dropped a foot from the middle to the window side. The GE refrigerator was so loud I unplugged it. The bathroom fan, which should be on a separate switch from the lights, sounded like a B52 bomber. Worst of all, I could hear every sound and footstep from the room above. I’m not sure if that last issue can be fixed.

Really clean, friendly, and comfortable place to stay, and the beds were super comfortable too. I loved the hotel. Sadly, there’s no pool.
