I’d stay here again. The rooms aren’t very nice, but I knew what I was paying for, and the rate was fair. My five stars are for Anil, the live-in manager. He was friendly, responsible, and ethical. For context, most Ocean City lodging is owned by absentee owners who regularly take advantage of both locals and guests. Cabana may not have been the nicest property, but it was the best run and easiest place to do business with. I’ve stayed at five different hotels or motels in the past three months, so that’s the experience I’m comparing it with.

I love Ocean City, and this motel is right in the middle of everything. It was nice and quiet, the rooms were good, and there were no problems. The owner or manager even helped me switch rooms and ended up upgrading me at no cost, which really never happens. Thanks to Cabana Motel and the nice guy at the desk running the place!

The bed was comfortable, so it’s okay if all you need is a place to sleep. The room looked unclean at first, but wiping things down didn’t leave any dirt behind. It just seemed old and in need of major updates. There was mold throughout the bathroom and in other areas, seemingly from the AC and humidity, so I’d avoid it if you’re allergic to mold. Our room had a fridge but no microwave.

I haven’t stayed at other OC hotels, but this felt more like an efficiency or semi-permanent place. It’s oldish, and the first floors had a problem. The bathroom window was open to the outside. At least 19th Street is within walking distance of establishments.

The smell was horrible, and it looked like nobody had cleaned the place in a long time. When we opened the door, the room was filthy: bedbugs were crawling on the mattress, black mold covered the ceiling, and hair and food had been left behind by previous guests. Absolutely disgusting and unsafe. Do not ever stay here!
