Majestic Hotel & Apartments

The staff were great, and the location was good, but the room was awful. There was a strong musty, moldy, mildew smell, and after just one night our clothes, blankets, and everything else smelled of it. I had to wash it all. I really think staying longer might have made us sick. The place felt unhealthy, with leaks in the ceilings and moisture everywhere. There were no curtains, and we only had two small, flat pillows. It needs to be rebuilt. Thank goodness we were there for just one night.

The staff’s response to our problems felt unprofessional. They basically said we hadn’t paid much, so it shouldn’t be a big deal. The central air stopped working on our second day, and the power kept going out too. The apartment was disgusting, though the balcony was a nice place to sit, and being right by the beach was pretty cool. I know it’s an old place, but it could still be cleaner. There was hair from previous guests all over the folded cots, and ants were everywhere, making it hard to keep them away from our snacks. If you want a comfortable trip, I’d spend extra for a nicer hotel or apartment.

The woman at the front desk was really helpful and understanding, and the service was nice. The location was great for a beach trip with friends, but the hotel was very outdated and smelled of mildew and what I can only describe as old people’s pee. In our first room, the water wouldn’t get cold, so we had scalding hot showers. Then the power in rooms 410 and 414 flickered for a while before going out, and we had to change rooms at midnight. In the second-floor room we were moved to, there seemed to be mold on the ceiling above the bed. Cleanliness doesn’t seem to be a priority here.

I tried to cancel as soon as I saw the room, but they told me I couldn’t. The place was disgusting and looked nothing like the pictures on the booking sites. There was construction going on, with furniture and TVs filling the hallways. The toilet didn’t work in the first room, which was supposed to have an ocean view, but I could only see a corner of the ocean through the side window. They moved me because of the broken toilet, but the second room looked onto the side of a building, definitely not an ocean view. Save your money. This was horrible.
