Seabonay Oceanfront Motel

The motel may be older, but our room was very clean and the ocean view was amazing. Everyone was friendly and helpful throughout the stay. We loved being right at the end of the Boardwalk, with easy access to the beach and boardwalk but a lot less noise than staying in the middle of it. There's plenty nearby too. We highly recommend it and will definitely return!

The room's strong mix of lemon citrus and mildew hit us as soon as we entered. The bathroom smelled moldy, was cramped, and had a jammed door. My husband got stuck inside and couldn't get out until I opened it from the outside. The rooms are really outdated, and we left after only a couple of hours because of the smell. We couldn't get a refund, but we couldn't stay. The staff were sweet and friendly, check-in was easy, and there was plenty of parking. Check-in is at the Dunes Suite Office around the corner from the hotel. The motel is in a great location, right on the beach at the end of the boardwalk.

Our room was clean and comfortable, and the pool was nice and clean too. It was quiet, with an excellent location just steps from the beach and boardwalk, and oceanfront views are available. Staff were around all the time. We didn't have a single issue and would stay again.

The location is convenient to the beach and boardwalk, and parking is okay because overflow parking is available across the street. The service responds quickly, but the staff didn't seem to know what was in their own rooms or understand what I was asking for. An empty body wash bottle was mounted in the shower; when I asked for a refill, reception gave me tiny bars of soap instead. There's no blow dryer in the room, so you have to ask. The place is moist, rundown, and dirty, and nothing like the pictures. The doors are odd, and if you don't lock them properly, you can end up sleeping with one ajar. I'd look for better lodging if you're over 25. The property is part of a four-motel complex on a small square of land, and the condition is a problem: padlocks on the fire exits, a rickety wooden walkway, narrow stairs to the upper floors, filthy room carpets, a squeaky bathroom door, and a fabric shower curtain that sticks to you. The thin terry towels they use as blankets don't help. The outside banisters are covered in bird poo, which should be part of the cleaning routine. The air conditioner was set to 61 but couldn't clear the humidity. Everything we brought felt damp the whole time, and both of us were sneezing like crazy. I suspect there's lots of mold behind the walls.
